WILD LIFE SANCTUARIES
Twenty Nine percent of Kerala’s total land is covered with forests. The five national parks and the 13 wild life sanctuaries together cover the 6 percent of the total land area of the state Kerala bio-diversity register the world's most significant wild life in perfect harmony with its natival habitat.
PERIYAR WILD LIFE SANCTUARY
It lies in the middle of the cardamom Hills and is a protected area in the districts of Idukki and Pathanamthitta you can find innumerable varieties of flora and fauna here including reptiles and insects . It is really famous for its wild elephants and tigers. A boat cruise through the lake at the heart of the sanctuary is the best option to check the wild life of this place.
PARAMBIKULAM WILD LIFE SANTUARY
This is a 285 square kilometers protected area in Chittur taluk in Palakkad district of Kerala state, South India. Established in 1973, it is in the Sungam range of hills between the Anamalai Hills and Nelliampathy Hills. The Western Ghats, Anamalai Sub-Cluster, including all of Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary, is under consideration by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee for selection as a World Heritage Site. The sanctuary is the home of 4 different tribes of indigenous peoples including the Kadar, Malasar, Muduvar and Mala Malasar settled in six colonies.
ERAVIKULAM NATIONAL PARK
It is located along the Western Ghats in the Idukki district it consists of high attitude grasslands interspersed with sholas . A variety of species including Nilgiri Wild Dog, Jungle cat, Nilgiri langur and birds like Kerala Laughing thrush, Verditer Fly catcher and butterflies like Red Disk Bush brown and Palni Four wing are found here .These are only a few among the birds and animals found here .Its real bio-diversity should be essentially experienced directly .
THATTEKKAD BIRD SANCTUARY
It is also known as Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary. A particular region of this place is called Cuckoo Paradise as it is a habitat for different varieties of cuckoos. It is situated in the northern side of periyar river and is the abode of 500 types of rare birds.
WATERFALLS IN KERALA

THUSHARAGIRI WATERFALLS, KOZHIKODE, KERALA, INDIA
The word thushara means snow capped mountain .The Chalippuzha river diverges the 3 waterfalls creating a snowy spray which gives the name . It is being originated from Chalippuzha River which diverges into three waterfalls. Thusharagiri Waterfalls are definitely a delight to visit. The highest waterfall among the three is Thenpara which falls from a height of two hundred and forty six feet. The twisting, tapered roads will take you to this stunning waterfall and you would be accompanied by peacefulness and lush greenery throughout your voyage. PALARUVI WATERFALL, THENMALA, KOLLAM DISTRICT, KERALA TOURS
It takes the crown of the 32nd highest waterfall in India which is situated in the kollam Thenmala forest range of district ' pal ' means milk and 'Aruvi ' means stream . So in the local language it means stream of milk. It has a height of 3000 ft. It has Ayurvedic healing properties as it is meandered through the herbal groves upstream.
KANTHANPARA WATERFALLS
This is a beautiful waterfall situated about twenty two km away from Kalpetta. Smaller than the Sentinel Rock waterfalls, the Kanthanpara Falls and its atmosphere make an ideal picnic spot in Wayanad. There are gorgeous tea gardens on both sides of Kanthanpara waterfalls adding up the additional beauty to the scenic waterfall. The nice aroma of tea leaves can be smelled near this waterfall. The waterfall raises a mild noise while falling and it is a very excellent trekking spot for novices. This magnificent ninety nine foot pour is an excellent tourist spot for a day-long trekking trip.
THOMMANKUTHU WATERFALLS
Thommankuthu is a very scenic waterfall near Thodupuzha, in the southern state of Kerala, India and is named after the great hunter, Mr. Thommachen Kuruvinakunnel, who let the world know of this beautiful waterfall in the jungle in the late 1920s. It is an ideal place for adventure tourism in Idukki. Major attractions at Thommankuthu are forest trekking and bathing in the waterfall
ATHIRAPPALLY AND VAZHACHAL WATERFALLS
This combination of woods and streams lies in the Thrissur district at a height of about 1000 ft above the sea level at the entrance of the sholayar ranges. It is a part of Chalakudy river and about 80 ft in height. Cascading down against the backdrop of thick forest landscape, they are a brilliant spectacle. The cool spray that covers a large area near the falls makes Athirappally a lovely location. The best season to visit the waterfalls is June to October when the monsoon is in full
MEENMUTTY WATERFALLS
Meenmutty waterfalls in Wayanad District having 300 ft height is the second largest waterfall in Kerala. It has 3 tiers which needs separate hike through the forest
CHEEYAPPARA WATERFALLS
It is a seven stepped waterfall which is an ideal place for trekking. The water comes from a height of 1000 ft which forms a rainbow in the morning sun these are safe places to enjoy a bath in the spray of cool water.
